Frequently Asked Questions

Empathic Counseling For Those Seeking Guidance

Are you feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to turn? You’re not alone. Our empathic counseling provides a sanctuary for healing, offering you the support and understanding you need to navigate life’s challenges. With a compassionate ear and tailored strategies, we guide you towards a path of clarity and resilience. Here, your journey towards healing is honored and every question is a step towards understanding.

Is there anything we need to prepare or have ready before a session?

Preparation before a virtual couples therapy session is key to creating an ideal environment. Ensure a stable internet connection and find a quiet, distraction-free, private space. Have any materials or notes you want to discuss on hand, like a notebook or relevant documents. Approach the session with an open mind and readiness to engage in the therapeutic process. If there are specific topics or concerns to address, jot them down for discussion. Setting up a comfortable and focused environment sets the stage for a more productive and beneficial session for both partners.

Do you accept insurance?

We operate as a private pay practice.

Intakes: $290 – 90 minutes (one-time)

Couples:

Group Therapy: $50 per person ($100 per couple)

Intensive Couples Therapy:

How can I afford therapy if you’re “out-of-network” with my insurance company? We provide a convenient service named Mentaya to streamline the reimbursement process for out-of-network benefits. With the benefits calculator, simply input your name, date of birth, and member ID to assess your out-of-network benefits and the expected reimbursement promptly.

Mentaya simplifies claim submission by automating it, eliminating paperwork and laborious insurance calls. We take charge of claim submission to your insurance provider, actively pursuing out-of-network reimbursements on your behalf. This ensures a more seamless and convenient reimbursement experience for our clients.

What if our internet connection is unreliable during sessions?

If an unstable internet connection causes issues during sessions, we’re prepared to tackle technical hitches. We’ll try reconnecting or rescheduling to ensure therapy runs smoothly. Beforehand, troubleshoot by testing your connection or restarting your router. If issues persist, let’s explore alternatives to ensure you get the support needed for therapy. Your comfort and engagement matter most, and we’ll navigate any technical challenges together.

How do I schedule an appointment for a virtual therapy session?

Scheduling an appointment is simple. You can visit our website and use the online booking system to choose a convenient time slot. Alternatively, you can call our office, and our administrative team will assist you in finding an available appointment that suits your schedule.

What platform do you use for virtual sessions, and is it secure?

We use a HIPAA-compliant and encrypted video conferencing platform, Simple Practice, to conduct our sessions. Your privacy and confidentiality are paramount, and the platform we utilize ensures a secure and private space for therapy sessions.
